Alright ladies, we all know when we're out in the club or on the nightlife scene we like to drink. Whether its a long island, a margarita, or a few shots of Patron I think its important that we all know that if we are not paying attention to our drinks that it can be spiked in a matter of seconds and you could become a victim to date rape. No one wants to think about getting drugged up and raped but this is reality. Things like this occur almost every day. Recently at Oklahoma State University, a few students reported to campus police that they were victims of the date rape drug. In order to protect yourself and your friends you should know that when someone spikes your drink there is no order, no taste, or discoloration. Your drink appears normal on the outside while being able to make you feel drowsy and later forgetting everything that could of happened to you. And trust me I know you want the guys to buy you a drink and if that is the case, follow the guy to the bar. Watch the bartender make the drink and hand it to you. Do not accept drinks that you have not seen being made. If you take just a few minutes to follow these simple rules you can protect yourself and avoid being a victim of date rape.

GHB- this drug is sometimes referred to as "Liquid Esctasy." It is usually spiked into fruity mixed drinks such as margaritas, hurricanes, etc.. It can cause nausea, dizziness, seizures, and unconsciousness. And if someone overdoses on GHB is can be fatal.

Rohypnol- it is usually known on the streets as "roofies." This drug is so deadly that it is not legally prescribed in the United States so anyone with possession for it is probably using it to rape someone. It causes slurred speech, impairs judgment, deep sedation and difficulty to walk. It usually lasts up to 8 hours and kick in anywhere between 8 minutes. It is easier to slip into martinis, drinks straight or even on the rocks.

Ketamine- known on the streets as Special K, it is supposed to be for veterniary use. It causes amnesia, impaired motor function, depression. Usually high dosages have to be applied to the drink in order for it to kick in. However, sometimes low dosages can also lead to impaired judgment. It is spiked into Moijitos, and drinks that are mixed with many other mixes especially dark drinks such as long islands.

Ladies please be safe, so before you take that drink from that guy that you know that you won't even give your number to make sure you've seen where the drink has come from and who made it.
